Officially licensed. Designed with actual intention. The SUBTITLE Brand x Jujutsu Kaisen collection is the drop that people who dress with intention have been waiting for, and if you've been around long enough to watch this brand grow from a viral TikTok into a Toho Animation partnership, you already know this moment hits different.
SUBTITLE didn't build its reputation by putting Gojo's face on a blank tee. From the beginning, the brand leaned into workwear silhouettes, structural tailoring, and references that reward people who actually know the source material. That's the only reason this collaboration deserves serious attention.
WHAT SUBTITLE BRAND ACTUALLY IS (AND WHY IT MATTERS HERE)
Born from a creator who built a community around the frustration of bad anime merch, SUBTITLE started as a proof of concept: elevated, wearable, anime-inspired pieces that don't announce themselves from across the street. The brand grew fast. The licensing came next. Now they're working directly with Toho Animation Store on an official Jujutsu Kaisen collection, and the teased pieces suggest they haven't compromised the aesthetic to get there.
That trajectory matters for how you read this drop. This isn't a legacy streetwear brand doing a collab for clout. This is a brand that was built specifically to solve the problem of anime merch that is poorly designed.
THE TEASED PIECES: A BREAKDOWN
Six pieces have been hinted at so far on the owner, Liang Shi's socials, and the range is more considered than most licensed drops manage.
The Nanami button-up is the one to watch. Nanami Kento is one of the most intentionally dressed characters in the entire series, a man who literally wears a suit into cursed spirit combat. A button-up referencing him should read more menswear than merch, and if SUBTITLE executes the cut and fabric right, this could be the piece that crosses over entirely.
The Prison Realm button-up is the wildcard. Prison Realm, as a design reference is unexpected, almost abstract, which is exactly the kind of choice that separates a thoughtful drop from a lazy one.
The Nobara workwear jacket pulls directly from her character, a woman defined by confidence and precision. A workwear jacket referencing her should be sharp-shouldered and structured, not soft.
The Mahito Idle Transfiguration jacket is the most ambitious conceptually. Referencing a cursed technique through garment construction, not just graphic placement, would be a high bar to clear. Curious to see how the design actually executes that idea in fabric and silhouette.
The Yuta White Uniform jacket and the Geto zip-up round out the collection. Both characters carry significant visual weight in the series, and both silhouettes, a clean white jacket and a zip-up, are workable wardrobe pieces if the construction holds.

THE HONEST TAKE ON SUBTITLE BRAND
There's something worth naming here. The viral TikTok that put SUBTITLE on the map, the one where the creator lamented the state of anime merch and floated the idea of building something better, felt a little calculated on rewatch. The pacing, the community ask, the pivot to "maybe I need to go build it" landed more like a launch strategy than a genuine frustration. That doesn't make the brand bad. But it's worth knowing the origin story before you treat it as purely grassroots.
What matters more is what came after. The brand put in the work. The designs improved. The official licensing with Toho Animation Store is real. And this collection, at least based on what's been teased, shows a brand that still cares about the design level it started with. Whether the materials and construction match that ambition is the only question left to answer.
THE FULL 18-PIECE COLLECTION: WHAT'S AVAILABLE, WHAT'S PRE-ORDER, AND WHAT'S STILL COMING
This is where it gets real. Eighteen pieces sound generous until you see how many are actually in hand right now.
IN STOCK — AVAILABLE NOW

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Black Flash T-Shirt — $65 | XS–2XL
Heavyweight jersey at 280 GSM, 100% cotton, with contrast red lock stitching at the body seams, four Black Flash woven labels, and the Jujutsu Kaisen logo embroidered in tonal color on the sleeve. That fabric weight is exactly what you want to see from a brand positioning itself above fast fashion. The construction details, the lock stitching especially, push it well past a standard graphic tee. For $65 with those specs, this is fair value and a clean cop.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Yuji's Red Hood Shirt — $120 | XS–2XL
Heavyweight twill, 100% cotton, custom dyed in Yuji's signature red. Three-piece lined hood construction, inverted box pleats on the sleeves and back yoke, adjustable cuffs, custom molded 22mm antique gold Jujutsu High buttons at the collar, and a Jujutsu High woven label at the chest pocket. The honest note: this piece reads as a jacket, not a shirt. The structure, the hood, the placket, all of it signals outerwear. That's either a design flex or a communication gap depending on how you look at it. The construction details are genuinely impressive. Just know what you're getting.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Uniform Pants — $135 | XS–2XL
Available now and the only piece from the uniform set you can actually take home today. Barrel leg silhouette, 47% wool and 53% polyester wool blend, custom molded 22mm antique gold Jujutsu High button, curved back yoke with insert pockets, belt loops, zipper fly, and blind hem stitch finish. Dry clean only. The polyester majority in the blend is worth noting at this price point. More on the fabric conversation below.
PRE-ORDER — ESTIMATED SHIPPING MARCH 2026

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle The Uniform Jacket (Men's) — $195 | XS–2XL
The centerpiece of the men's uniform set. Raglan shoulder construction, custom molded 22mm antique gold Jujutsu High emblem buttons, custom jacquard lining with the Jujutsu High emblem, gold piping at interior seams, full zipper closure under a diagonal placket, adjustable cuffs, insert hand pockets, and an interior chest pocket. The construction details are considered and specific. The wool blend is 47% wool and 53% polyester with no confirmed ship date beyond "March 2026." At $195, that vagueness is the friction.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle The Women's Uniform Jacket — $180 | S–2XL
Cropped silhouette with drop shoulder construction, mandarin collar, same custom 22mm antique gold Jujutsu High buttons, custom jacquard lining, extended split cuffs, gold interior piping, and a curved hem. Same wool blend: 47% wool, 53% polyester. Same March 2026 estimate. The silhouette is sharper and more distinct than the men's jacket, and the cropped cut makes it more versatile in terms of how it layers. Still a pre-order commitment with a loose timeline.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Uniform Skort — $110 | XS–2XL
Half pleat design, same antique gold Jujutsu High hardware, custom jacquard lining with the Jujutsu High emblem, side pocket, zipper fly, belt loops, and blind hem stitch finish. The skort construction gives it more wearability than a straight skirt in terms of movement and practicality. Same wool blend, same March 2026 window.
COMING SOON — ESTIMATED SHIPPING APRIL 2026

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle White Uniform Bomber Jacket — $220 | XS–2XL
The most expensive piece in the collection. Bomber silhouette with curved seams, 50% wool, 47% polyester, 3% Lyocell blend, custom jacquard lining, antique gold Jujutsu High hardware, gold interior piping, adjustable cuffs, and a relaxed fit. This is the Yuta-inspired piece. The silhouette is strong and the curved seam construction is a specific design choice that elevates it past a standard bomber. Dry clean only.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle White Uniform Shirt — $100 | XS–2XL
Heavyweight twill, 100% cotton. Curved sleeve construction, 17mm antique gold Jujutsu High buttons, genuine shell buttons, side pleats on the back yoke, diagonal front cuff placket, and a high-low curved hem. The all-cotton construction here is a win. One of the cleaner, more quietly wearable pieces in the collection.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Uniform Hoodie — $120 | XS–2XL
Extra heavyweight brushed fleece at 460 GSM, 100% cotton. Drop shoulder, curved sleeve construction, custom jacquard lining with the Jujutsu High emblem in the hood and pockets, 22mm antique gold buttons, and a curved rib hem. 460 GSM brushed fleece is premium weight and the jacquard lining detail inside the hood is the kind of interior detail that makes a piece feel intentional rather than costumed.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Gojo Unlimited Void T-Shirt — $65 | XS–2XL
Extra heavyweight jersey at 350 GSM, 100% cotton. Single piece sleeve construction, curved chest seam with ventilation openings, tonal embroidery of the Jujutsu Kaisen logo on the sleeve, embroidered artwork on the chest, and printed and embroidered artwork on the back. The GSM jump from the Black Flash T-Shirt to 350 on this one is notable. The ventilation seam construction is unexpected and specific to Gojo's technique reference.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Prison Realm Shirt — $120 | XS–2XL
Heavyweight twill, 100% cotton. Double-layer construction with contrast color back panels, box pleat on the back yoke, squared contrast pocket with contrast blue buttons, Jujutsu Kaisen woven label on the cuff, covered placket closure, genuine seashell buttons, and a high-low flat hem. The double-layer construction and contrast paneling make this one of the more structurally interesting shirts in the drop.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Geto Zip Sweatshirt — $140 | XS–2XL
Extra heavyweight French terry at 480 GSM, 100% cotton. Raglan shoulder construction with scar stitching, faded overprint inspired by Geto's robes, custom beaded zipper puller, three-quarter sleeve with raw hem, rectangular patch pocket with raw edges, and full metal zipper closure. The scar stitching and faded overprint are the standout details here. That level of technique-specific design reference is exactly what separates a thoughtful collab from a cash grab. The 480 GSM French terry is premium weight.
COMING SOON — ESTIMATED SHIPPING MAY 2026

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Megumi Rabbit Stampede T-Shirt — $65 | S–2XL
Heavyweight jersey at 280 GSM, 100% cotton. Cut-out chest construction, curved back seams, silver chrome 3D artwork on the chest, printed Jujutsu Kaisen logo on the back, and a cropped hem. The chrome 3D chest application is a bold material choice. The cropped hem and cut-out chest construction make this the most fashion-forward silhouette among the tees.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Nobara Workwear Jacket — $140 | S–2XL
Midweight canvas, 100% cotton. Curved sleeve construction, functional back shoulder gussets, elbow pleats, custom 22mm antique gold Jujutsu High buttons, genuine leather logo patch, custom suede leather pocket with debossed artwork, patch pocket with hammer loop, and metal rivets. This is the piece that could have scored the highest in the entire collection. Canvas workwear with genuine leather detailing, functional gussets, and hardware rivets reads as a true investment piece. The May window is genuinely frustrating given how specific and considered the construction is.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Nanami Shirt — $120 | XS–2XL
Midweight poplin, 100% cotton, with custom printed fabrics. Chest pocket, adjustable cuffs, Jujutsu Kaisen woven label on the cuff, and a high-low curved hem. Nanami Kento is one of the most deliberately dressed characters in the series. A custom printed poplin shirt referencing him should read as elevated menswear before it reads as anime merch. This is the piece that will either justify everything or disappoint the most. No material details on the print pattern yet.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Choso Hoodie — $95 | XS–2XL
Extra heavyweight French terry at 480 GSM, 100% cotton. Jujutsu Kaisen logo embroidery, lined hood, side zipper splits, patch hand pocket, and rib hem. At $95 for 480 GSM French terry with embroidery and side zip splits, this is the best value in the May wave and arguably one of the best value pieces in the full collection.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Sukuna T-Shirt — $65 | XS–2XL
Heavyweight jersey at 280 GSM, 100% cotton. Layered double sleeve construction, center chest embroidery of Sukuna's facial tattoo, Jujutsu Kaisen logo embroidery, and a custom crochet belt application with embroidered artwork at the hem. The crochet belt application at the hem is unexpected and specific. The layered double sleeve adds dimension without bulk.

JUJUTSU KAISEN Subtitle Mahito Transfigured Jacket — $180 | XS–2XL
The one exception in this otherwise mostly cotton and wool collection. Heavyweight custom jacquard check Bouclé fabric at 60% polyester and 40% acrylic. Adjustable and detachable sleeves, round collar, genuine leather logo patch, 3D embroidery artwork, side welt pockets, and a relaxed fit. The polyester-acrylic Bouclé construction is a deliberate textile choice for the Mahito reference, and the detachable sleeve detail is a direct nod to Idle Transfiguration as a concept. The material is still a flag worth noting at $180. Dry clean only.

THE FABRIC CONVERSATION WE NEED TO HAVE
The polyester question is unavoidable. The uniform pieces, both men's and women's sets, are 47% wool and 53% polyester. That majority-polyester construction is hard to ignore at $180 to $195 for a jacket, and the community has already flagged it directly in comments on the brand's pages.

The brand has responded, noting the polyester blend is specific to the uniform construction for structure and shape retention, mimicking the stiff, precise silhouette of a Jujutsu High uniform. That functional context matters. A fully wool jacket at that cut and construction could lose its shape over time. There's a design argument for the blend.
That said, looking through the full collection, the uniform pieces are not the only items carrying synthetic content. The Mahito Transfigured Jacket is 60% polyester and 40% acrylic, which is a different material category entirely. The "polyester is just for the uniform pieces" framing doesn't hold across the full 18-piece list.
What does hold up is everything that comes in 100% cotton. The GSM weights across the tees, sweatshirts, and shirts are legitimately impressive. 280, 350, 460, 480 GSM. That range shows a brand that understands fabric weight and is not cutting corners on the cotton construction. The Geto Zip Sweatshirt at 480 GSM French terry alone is a statement about what this brand is capable of when it leans into natural fibers.
THE HONEST TAKE
Excited about this collection. Genuinely. The construction details across almost every piece show a brand that is thinking about garment-making seriously: jacquard linings, genuine leather patches, debossed suede pockets, scar stitching, 480 GSM French terry. These are not throwaway details.
But launching 18 pieces when only 3 are immediately available, 3 are pre-orders with vague March windows, and 12 are sitting in Coming Soon with April and May ship dates is a risky move for a brand whose whole identity is built on fixing what's wrong with anime merch. The fans who showed up at 10 AM PT for this drop are leaving with pants, a t-shirt, or a pre-order receipt. The Nobara Workwear Jacket with genuine leather and suede detailing isn't available until May. The Nanami Shirt, the Geto Zip Sweatshirt, the Choso Hoodie, all locked behind a Coming Soon tag.
The potential here remains high. The pieces that are coming look like they could push this into genuinely rare territory. But the rollout structure asks a lot of patience from a community that has been waiting and watching this brand build toward exactly this moment.
ANTI-WEEB FASHION RATING
Full rating will be updated as pieces ship and samples are reviewed in hand. Current scores reflect available material information and construction details.
Category | Score | Note |
Quality | ?/10 | Cotton pieces spec beautifully: 280–480 GSM, genuine leather, jacquard linings. Wool-poly blend on uniforms and the Bouclé Mahito jacket require hands-on review. |
Subtlety | ?/10 | Character-specific construction over graphic placement is the right call. Physical execution determines the score. |
Versatility | ?/10 | Cotton shirts and workwear silhouettes score high on paper. Uniform set is specific by design. |
Design | ?/10 | Scar stitching on the Geto sweatshirt, detachable sleeves on the Mahito jacket, chrome 3D application on the Megumi tee. The design intent is specific and considered. Full score after delivery. |
Value | ?/10 | $65 for 280–350 GSM 100% cotton with embroidery is strong. $195 for a poly-majority pre-order with no firm date is harder. $95 for the Choso Hoodie at 480 GSM may be the best value in the drop. |
Community | ?/10 | Brand is actively responding to polyester criticism in comments. Transparency is a green flag. Tracking rollout communication. |
Preliminary Tier: WATCH LIST — If I were to suggest some cops: The Nobara Workwear Jacket. That 100% cotton canvas with a genuine leather logo patch and custom debossed suede pocket is the most Anti-Weeb Fashion piece in the entire collection, and it's not close. The Mahito Transfigured Sweater has one of the most conceptually sharp ideas in the drop, detachable sleeves as a direct nod to Idle Transfiguration, deserves full credit, but 60% polyester and 40% acrylic Bouclé at $180 is a hard sell when the rest of this collection is proving it can do 100% cotton at serious weight. The concept earned it a look. The materials lost it. Uniform set, wait for hands-on review before committing to that pre-order.
VERDICT
The SUBTITLE Brand x Jujutsu Kaisen collection is doing something most licensed anime drops don't attempt: building garments around character identity instead of character likeness. Scar stitching for Geto. Detachable sleeves for Mahito. A crochet hem application for Sukuna. Genuine leather and suede on a workwear jacket for Nobara. These are specific choices made by people who understand the source material and understand construction.
The rollout structure is the honest frustration. Twelve pieces locked behind Coming Soon with April and May windows is a lot to ask of people who showed up ready to spend. The uniform pricing combined with the polyester blend is a legitimate critique that deserves a real answer once samples are in hand.
This collection is not finished revealing itself yet. The full rating drops as each wave arrives.
